Herm*Story: A Writing Workshop for Inter* People
Herm*Story:A Writing Workshop for Inter* People
We want to come together and write stories. Share stories about what it means to be born inter* into a world of men and women. Do we conform? Do we hide? Where do we find spaces of freedom?
No matter if they’re sad, angry, or proud and brave—these are stories of everyday life and resistance within and against the two-gender system. Whether you have writing experience or not—everyone is welcome. It’s okay to experiment and rewrite everything at the end. It’s also okay to take your time or not have theright words quite yet. The only important thing is to be open to sharing.
I, Ika,will be leading the writing workshop. For a long time, I didn’t know of any images or stories of people who were like me – inter*. Writing myself ended up really helping me. Using pen and paper to sort through the chaos in my head and find my own voice. Now I want to encourage other inter* people to try writing, too.
