TIN Resilience Through Community

For a Strong TIN* Community in Saxony and Thuringia

“TIN* Resilience Through Community” is a project by and for tin* individuals. Our goal is to help build a strong community structure in Saxony and Thuringia that amplifies their voices in society and fosters solidarity and the exchange of experiences. This initiative is our response to the rise of right-wing extremism and increasing hostility toward tin* people.

To counter feelings of fear, powerlessness, or isolation, as well as the growing presence of right-wing actors and their actions against the existence of tin* realities, we offer opportunities for tin* individuals to share experiences, express emotions, and develop strategies for action.

We are convinced that we can achieve a lot together!

Resilience is the ability to cope well with difficult situations. This requires a supportive, solidary, and friendly community, as well as knowledge and practical tools on strengthening, self-care, organizational, and informational topics. Through our networking and workshop offerings, we aim to expand skills together and become more effective and capable of taking action as a community.

No voice should go unheard, and no one should fall through the cracks.

We especially want to encourage rural regions to become active with us and to establish their own groups for exchange and activism. Strong networks ensure that no group stands alone but can rely on a broad, diverse, and supportive community. For this reason, we deliberately focus on intersectionality and especially invite groups with an intersectional background to participate.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Cohesion
  • Strength
  • Resilience: rest + resistance
  • Community
  • Solidarity
  • Intersectionality
  • Making voices heard in society
  • Experiencing personal and collective effectiveness
  • Democratic self-articulation
  • against hostility toward human rights
  • Strengthening mental health through exchange and community
  • Positive influence on one’s own life circumstances
  • Advocacy for one’s own concerns
  • Claiming space and countering the rise of right-wing extremism
  • Sharing experiences, emotions, and strategies for action
  • Support and backing through community

Our Community Offerings:

TIN* Networking Meetings: from Exchange Cafés to Networking Weekends

In regional exchange cafés, we aim to support low-threshold formats that allow tin* individuals to come together. The meetings can be designed according to your preferences—for example, as a self-help group, a university group, or through creative activities and other favorite pastimes.

It is important to us that there are regular spaces that can serve as safer spaces for tin* people. Don’t have one in your area yet? Feel free to reach out to us. We are happy to support the creation of new tin* groups or groups that are open and supportive of tin* individuals.

In our regional networking meetings, we aim to provide a space for you to share your concerns and experiences with others. This can include personal experiences, feelings, or reflections on strategies for action, which can be discussed and further developed through exchange with others. Everyone is encouraged to contribute—whether drawing on years of experience or bringing fresh perspectives as a newcomer, whether actively involved in a group or not.

We also want to give you the opportunity to share information about your local offerings, events, and mutual needs or support opportunities. For a particularly high-quality and friendly gathering, we also plan a networking weekend.

Inter* Networking and Exchange Opportunities

We invite inter* individuals to connect, share experiences, and organize together. In addition to our tin* events, we also plan exchange and networking formats that focus exclusively on inter* topics and provide opportunities for networking within and for Central Germany.

Workshops: Resilience Skills and Self-Organization

The resilience workshops focus on strengthening self-confidence. They are designed to empower participants and highlight the valuable and positive aspects of TIN* identities. These workshops may include elements such as body work, creative writing, life story work, theater and drag workshops, and much more.

Self-organization workshops aim to enable sustainable structure building by expanding and complementing existing resources and skills. This helps to make the resulting networks more stable and long-lasting. Possible topics include local politics, funding opportunities, organizational structures, volunteering, consensus building, group processes, conflict management, and more.

Opportunities to Get Involved in/with Brochures (Development and Design)

Over the next three years, we aim to develop two brochures together with you, aligned with the thematic focus of our workshops. One brochure will focus on self-organization, and the other on resilience and resilience experiences. You can learn more about these in our workshops, at networking meetings, or by contacting us at the email address provided below.

Digital Platform for tin* Individuals

The digital platform for tin* individuals is intended to facilitate exchange and networking. We are currently still in the planning phase and welcome your ideas if you are interested!
