Trans Rights Index and Map 2026

TGEU released the “Trans Rights Index and Map 2026”
The newdata shows:
Legal progress across Europe and Central Asia is often driven by activists andcourts — not by proactive governments.
“Only 3 European countries (Iceland, Spain and Denmark) comprehensively protect and promote the rights of trans and non-binary people. Due to the cancellation of the federal government’s national action plan, Germany drops one place and now ranks behind Belgium.
Furthermore, the federal government has so far failed to actively position itself against online hate speech and take appropriate action. Especially regarding discrimination, Germany is falling far behind and has been overtaken by countries such as Slovenia, Croatia, Albania and Greece, which ranked much lower in previous years.”
